Task

T A S K

As you move along with this WebQuest you will be able to learn things about technology and its effect to you. The class will be grouped into four; your groups will be performing the entire task given to this WebQuest to be able to come up with an impressive and well thought output. Each member will have to research on the answers to the questions from the provided links. After collating all of your researches and answers, you will need to create a graphical representation of the effects of social media to the young generation and to the world and must be able to accomplish a powerpoint presentation for reporting.

Then, the first two groups will have to create a separate short film about the effects of social media to the students/youth, while the other two groups will have to come up for a video campaign about how to use social media responsibly. Each member should have roles in the short film/campaign video; this must be saved in a CD that will be shown in the class on your presentation. Each film must not exceed a minimum of 3 minutes and maximum of 5 minutes duration. You will be given 1 week to accomplish the report in powerpoint presentation and 2 weeks to make your own short films. Finally, whichever among the four groups have the best performance and the most creative idea of the topics in that short film will have their video to be on our facebook and youtube account.

[img_assist|nid=15396|title=aq|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=407|height=431]This WebQuest is done with the aim of allowing the students to answer the questions about social media’s effects to students and to the society. Its goal is to inculcate the values of proper utilization of social media in education and in daily living. I believe that technology has many benefits that we can use in cultivating education; however there are times that too much of everything can be harmful. I wanted each student to understand how social media works, how we can benefit from it by being aware of its bad effects and focus on what it can help to sustain development of our youth. With the use of student’s creative mind in presenting their own concept of Social Media at the same time directing their own short film, they will be able to reenact and apply their learning as they move along.
