Introduction
By the end of this lessons students will
be able to solve problems using models or drawings to add, subtract or multiply with fractions
know and understand equivalent fractions
be able to explain what a fraction represents in terms of equal parts of a whole
identify the parts of a fraction on a visual model
define the terms "numerator" and "denominator''
Task
Students will complete worksheet and come up with 2 questions per group for class to solve.
Process
Students will each be tasked to solve 6 problems individually then come together in groups of 4-6 and come up with 2 real world situation and convert it into a fraction problem for other groups to solve.
