Creating a political party for Young people

Introduction

There are many different political parties in Chile. As of March 2018, there are 28 legally constituted political parties in Chile! but does any of them really stand for young people`s interests? In which social aspects should political parties focus in order to benefit young people's interests? how could a political party help to increase the number of young voters for presidential elections?

Task

Step 1: Research

  • Create groups of 4 people and find out what political parties there are in your local community, and how they address local issues for young people.
  • Make a list of their most important policies and the arguments they use to support them.
  • Find information about how they publicize themselves (websites, posters, banners, etc)

Step 2: Design

  • Create a name for your political party
  • Decide on what local issues your party will be focused on.
  • Decide on materials to publicize your party (brochure, website, poster, etc)
  • Prepare a draft of publicity materials and review it with your group to suggest improvements or changes.

Step 3: Prepare

  • Write the final draft of the publicity materials
  • Include a logo and use design to make sure the materials get people's attention
  • Write a speech to present your party

Step 4: Present

  • Display your publicity materials.
  • Give your presentation speech to the class and try to recruit members for your party.
