Differences in Psychology

Introduction

In this lesson we will be exploring different types of psychology. There are three main branches that we will be learning about cognitive psychology, behaviorism, and social cognitive theory. This may seem like a boring topic, but you would be surprised at the number of factors relating to Psychology that impact our daily lives. The following list will describe the ideas of the different psychological models and what there is to know about them.

- Cognitive Psychology- This area can be seen to have the largest to do with the mind. Such as how we think, how we learn, and even how we remember.

-Behaviorism- The central idea of Behaviorism is that the action of people and animals is determined by their environment, and other factors that our not limited to the mind. 

-Social Cognitive Theory- This theory states that a lot of learning and behavior is influenced by social interaction and observation. 

Task

For this lesson you will be expected to watch a video and read an article for each different sector of psychology. After reading and watching about each topic you will then be given a writing prompt about what you have learned. A small note to get to the articles you will need to click on the highlighted words that describe what the article is covering. Each question on the writing prompt will be graded by a rubric that can be seen on the evaluation section.

Document features numerous mistakes in both spelling and grammar, leaving the document incredibly difficult to read, and comprehend.

 The listed questions are what the previous rubric will be scoring. A question has been given an example, so that you may have an idea of what you are expected to do. Your answer can be as short as two to three sentences or as long as two paragraphs as long as it gives a solution to the question.

(a) example. The little albert experiment was cruel because of the way little albert was treated. While little albert did not suffer any direct harm he was subject to the emotional distress caused by hearing the loud noise. In this way the experiment was cruel, because little Albert had no choice in his involvement in the experiment being that he was a baby.

8. Do you think that the little Albert experiment or the Bobo the doll experiment are more important, why your choice?

9. In what way would Piaget's stages of development change how we treat teaching children.

10. From all the theories you have learned about what one can you see used in your own life in some way. Please give the theory, and tell how it is similar to something you have been through.

Conclusion

This lesson has explored the major ideas and theories behind cognitive psychology, behaviorism, and social cognitive theory. From Skinner to Piaget. Reflect about what some of the most important ideas where that you have learned today. Now when you get a new puppy you may able to train him just a little bit better with the principles of skinner. Or now when you remember that when you hear thunder rain is soon to follow remember the little albert experiment, and how our brain connects ideas to different information. There are even more questions to consider such as, how do people use psychology when teaching, how is it used in business, or even how do your parents use it.
