A simile is a comparison between two things that uses the word like or as

Task
Task:
Students will be able identify figurative language such as simile and metaphor and can use this figurative speech in their spoken and writing language. Students also will be able to write compare contrast essay using figurative language simile and metaphor.
- What is figurative language?
- What do you know about metaphor and simile?
- what are the differences of simile and metaphor?
- Write sentences using simile and metaphor.
- Make power point presentations to show the differences between simile and metaphor
Process
Process:
Students will be divided into four groups.
- Two groups are assigned to study simile and make sentences using simile and find the difference between the two figurative languages. Students find simile in the following graphic organizer.
- The next two group will study to the metaphor and make sentences and find the difference between metaphor and simile. Students find metaphor in following graphic organizer.
- After leaning simile and metaphor and identify the difference between simile and metaphor, students will write short paragraph on the poster using simile and metaphor in paragraph.
- Students will work in four groups, and each group will write one paragraph on the poster and use simile and metaphor and present their poster for the class.
