Well how did you do?  Have you unearthed our not so secret treasures?

Here are the answers:

1. Cornwall was world famous for tin mining.

2. A Cornish 'pasty' is a savoury pie made with beef, potatoes, onions, and swede.  It has to be made in Cornwall.

3. Helston is 'Hellys' in Cornish.

4. The famous boxer is Bob Fitzsimmons who was born in Helston.

5. The patron saint of Cornwall is St Piran whose flag is a white cross on a black background 

6. Flora Day is the special festival for Helston.  It welcomes the end of winter and the beginning of spring and takes place on the 8th of May.

7. The traditional flower is the 'lily of the valley', and has to be worn on the day.

8. The most southerly point in Cornwall, and indeed in the UK is The Lizard point.

9. Cornwall is famous for being a great place to go surfing - but you'll need a wetsuit!

10. The monument is named after a local solicitor, Humphry Millet Grylls who fought to keep a mine open and so saved a lot of local jobs (1200).

11. The river which passes through Helston is the Cober.

12. Flambards' 'old' attraction is a Victorian village.
