Welcome to the magical world of Art Expression. Art is all about expressing yourself and being able to convey the thoughts and emotions that go on in one's head. Through this WebQuest we will venture deep into our minds to communicate our feelings through art. By the end of this activity, you will be able to better identify your own emotions as well as be able to express them through art.
Task
Our mission is to explore our minds and convey our emotions through art.
Here's what you will accomplish:
- Identify emotions.
- Learn what colors pair with what emotions.
- Learn what lines pair with what emotions.
- Learn what shapes pair with what emotions.
- Create a piece of art that expresses your emotions using the learned material.
Process
Step 1: Review the emotions chart and identify the emotions
Answer these questions:
a.) Which of these emotions have you felt before?
b.) What color do you think of when you feel these emotions?
Step 2: Learn more about other methods to express emotions through art (Color, Lines, and Shapes) through this Video
Answer these questions:
a.) What lines can describe the feeling of being happy?
b.) What kind of shape would you use to express feeling scared?
Step 3: Choose an emotion to express within your project
Step 4: Create an artwork through drawing or painting that represents an emotion of choice
Step 5: Share your finished artwork with classmates and explain the shapes, lines, and colors used
