How Do Living Things Chnage the World?

Introduction

Welcome! 🌎

Animals, people, and plants can change the environment to get what they need. Sometimes they build homes, dig holes, or move things around. Think about what you have noticed living things do in your environment...

Your WebQuest challenge is to find out how living things change the world around them — and show what you learn!

Task

By the end of this challenge, you will:

  1. Discover how people, animals, and plants change the Earth.

  2. Watch videos, play a game, and explore.

  3. Collect “evidence” to support your ideas.

  4. Create a digital poster or video to explain how one living thing changes its environment.

Process

Step 1: Watch and Wonder

Watch these videos and think: How is the environment being changed?

Step 2: Explore and Sort

Play this sorting game: (insert teacher-made sorting game)

Step 3: Evidence Hunt

Look around your home, school, or yard and find two ways people, animals, or plants are changing the environment. Examples:

  • A bird building a nest

  • A dog digging a hole

📷 Draw what you find.

Step 4: Make Your Argument!

Now that you're an expert, it’s time to EXPLAIN your argument.

🎨 Choose one way a living thing changes the environment.

🛠️ Use Seesaw or Google Slides to:

  • Show the living thing

  • Describe how it changes the environment

  • Add your photo/drawing

  • Record yourself explaining your idea (voice or video)

Evaluation

Teacher-made checklist
