Introduction
Hello Scientists!
You are going to be learning all about the three states of matter-- solids, liquids, and gasses. If you look around, everything around you is made of matter. Through this WebQuest, you are going to learn more about these forms! You are going to learn why ice melts and why your water stems when you boil it on the stove. So get ready... it's time to investigate!
Task
1. Learn about the three states of matter by watching a video.
2. Look around and find the three states of matter in your home!
3. Create a matter collection sheet. Write down items around your house you saw the states of matter in.
4. Make a slideshow or poster telling about the states of matter. Use photos and words!
Process
1. Watch this video to learn about the states of matter.
2. Grab a piece of paper and look around your house.
- Find 3 solids and write them down
- Find 3 liquids and write them down
- Find 3 gasses and write them down
- Gasses might be tricky! Ask your grown up if you need help!
3. Create your slideshow or poster!
- Write the state of matter as well as with your findings.
- Ex: Solid: Table, Cup, Candle
- Try and write a fact about each state of matter.
4. Get ready to share!
- Share your findings with your classmates. We can share your poster or we can show your slideshow on the screen!

Conclusion
You've reached the end! Congratulations, scientists! You have successfully explored the world around you and have found the three forms of matter all around! Now that you know the three states of matter, you can find them anywhere! Next time, look around at school, at the playground, or at the park. Science is all around!
