Introduction

Welcome to the "Take Action for a Greener Planet" Webquest! Our environment is an essential part of our everyday lives. How we take care of our planet will reflect on our environment, and also our health. As we can observe to our planet, it is changing overtime. Small actions can make a significant impact. In this activity, you will explore how simple habits can contribute to a healthier and sustainable enviroment. By the end of this activity, you will have practical ideas to help protect our planet and influence others to do the same.

Task

Your mission is to become an environmental ambassador!

  1. You will research various small actions that individuals can take to help the environment.

  2. Then, you will create a presentation or a digital poster that highlights at least five actionable steps people can take in their everyday lives to support environmental health.

Process

Research Phase:

Visit the following websites to gather information about small actions that help the environment:  

  • EPA’s Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
  • WWF’s 10 Simple Things You Can Do to Help Protect the Earth
  • National Geographic’s Environment Protection                                                                                                                      (Tips: Take notes on the different actions individuals can take to reduce their environmental impact.)

Action Selection:

  • Choose five small actions that you believe are the most impactful and feasible for everyday life.
  • Consider actions related to waste reduction, energy conservation, water preservation, sustainable transportation, and eco-friendly products.

Create Your Presentation:

  • Use tools like Google Slides, Canva, or PowerPoint to create a visually appealing presentation or digital poster.                 Also include the following in your presentation:
  • A brief introduction about the importance of environmental protection.
  • A description of each action, why it is important, and how it helps the environment. Visuals or graphics to make your presentation engaging.

Your presentation will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • Content Accuracy: The information provided is accurate and well-researched.
  • Clarity and Organization: The presentation is clear, organized, and easy to follow.
  • Creativity: The use of visuals and creative elements enhances the presentation.
  • Engagement: The presentation effectively engages the audience and encourages them to take action.
