Written by William Shakespeare, the play Romeo and Juliet is about two lovers who are forbidden to be together because of a family rivalry. However, before we begin, it is important to know how to decode Shakespeare. Although Shakespeare's writing is considered to be "Modern English," most of the language he used does not hold the same meaning or value as it would today. In this Webquest, you will learn how to decode some of the language Shakespeare used, which will help you in our upcoming classroom activity.
