Human Organs and Their Functions

Introduction

Good morning class! Have you all ever wondered how many functions your body is performing at once? Or do you know what purpose your organs are serving? Today we are going to take a deep dive into the human body to learn about some of the processes that your body performs every day. The human body is fascinating and does so much to keep us happy and healthy. In this WebQuest, you will see the different processes that our organs perform and learn the importance of human health. 

Task

Your task is to research different organs in the human body and present a slideshow to the class about their specific functions. Your slideshow should include the name of the organ, where it is located in the body, and what its primary function is. You should become an expert about the organ you are researching.

Process

You will pick one organ from the following list: brain, heart, liver, lungs, stomach, pancreas, kidney, gallbladder, esophagus, small intestine, or large intestine. 

Use the websites provided below to research each organ. Your research should include the name origin, the location in the body, the size of the organ, and what its function is in the human body. 

Create a slideshow with Google Slides about your organ and present it to the class. You should make at least 4 different slides in your presentation. 

Make sure that you use visuals in your presentation so that your classmates can visualize what they are learning about!

Through this WebQuest, you have learned about the functions of organs in the human body. As you can see, our bodies are fascinating and they carry out many important tasks every minute of the day. Organs keep our body running. That is why it is so important to stay healthy so that each organ can carry out its designed purpose.
