Background: The US Constitution serves as the supreme law of the United States of America. It is composed of 7 articles that state how the government it organized and ran. It came into existence in 1789 and still is used today. Since 1789 it has been amended 27 times, but it still remains the supreme law of our country. 

Task

State Standard: 5.7: Students describe the people and events associated with the development of the US Constitution and analyze the Constitutions significance as the foundation of the American republic.

Technology Standard: Standard 3 : Students apply digital tools to gather, evaluate, and use information.

Lesson Objective: Students will use different digital tools to answer the following questions about the US Constitution.

Essential Question- What is the Preamble? What does it state?

Evaluation

Assessment:  This assignment promotes student learning by requiring the students to use different digital tools to research the US Constitution. I will check for student’s understanding by checking their responses to the questions and also by requiring them to memorize and recite the Preamble.

Conclusion

Grading Criteria:

-          Students recite Preamble correctly.

-          Student’s answers are correct.

-          Student’s answers are thorough.

-          Student is able to explain the different parts of the Preamble.
