How are laws made and then enforced?

 

In this fun WebQuest you will learn about: 

  • How laws are made
  • Different types of laws
  • The people who have the power and authority to enforce laws                                                                                                                       

 

                                                                                                               

 

 

Task

By the time you finish this WebQuest you will know much more about laws, and how they are enforced. As you go through this WebQuest you will answer questions about what you have learned. Throughout the entire assignment you must answer any questions that are asked in complete sentences. At the end of the WebQuest you will make a chart about what you have learned. 

Process

Instructions: Follow the steps in numbered order, and answer all questions in your Social Studies notebook. Please write in complete sentences. 

 

1. Before we really begin learning about different types of laws, and who enforces them I want you to tell me what you already know. Create the following K-W-L chart in your notebook.

In the first section, you will write what you already know about laws, and who enforces them. In the second section, please write what you would like to learn about laws and about enforcing them. Leave the last section blank, we will revisit that at the end of this WebQuest.

8. Please fill in the last section of your K-W-L chart (what you have learned). 

Evaluation

The work that you put into your Social Studies notebook from this activity will be graded. 

  • If your work is turned in on time you will receive 10 points.
  • The 13 questions are worth 4 points each, totaling 52 points.
  • Your answers must be in complete sentences, this is worth 8 points. 
  • Your completed K-W-L chart is worth 15 points.
  • Your summary, which is to be written in complete sentences is worth 15 points.

All of those sections add up to 100 total points.

 

Conclusion

To complete this WebQuest, please write a short summary (5-8 complete sentences) about what you have learned, and what you have found most interesting. 

 

When you have completed all of the work listed on the evaluation page, please put your Social Studies notebook on the Turn It In Table.
