Thirteen Original Colonies WebQuest

Introduction

During this topic of instruction, we will be learning about and researching the original thirteen colonies of the United States of America. We will learn about the geography, history, culture, and economics of each one of the colonies. 

Task

Using this WebQuest, as well as other sources of your own finding off the internet, each group of students will be given one of the thirteen colonies to do research on. Each group will be asked to research information about the geography, history, culture, and economics of their colony. Here are some of the basic questions that will need to be answered during your research...

1. Where is the colony located? (geography)

2. When and by whom was the colony founded? (history)

3. What was life like for the people living in the colony? (culture)

4. What were the major industries in the colony? (economics)

Conclusion

Now that we are done with our research and we have written our findings in sentence form in Microsoft Word, each pair of students will create a PowerPoint presentation on their colony to share with the class.
