Are you aware of yourself?

Introduction

The goal of this activity is to familiarize you with the concepts of self-awareness, to provide you as a student with opportunities to identify and discuss your strengths and needs, and to assist you in identifying questions about self-awareness.

Task

The goal of the activity is for you to become more self-aware. Students will have one minute to write down their weaknesses and strengths, as well as their interests and experiences. It is up to the class to decide how much they want to write. Every student will be able to learn something new about themselves as a result of this activity.

Process

Following the activity, you should be able to:
1. Describe yourself in three words.
2. Determine your own weaknesses and strengths.
3. After completing these two tasks, you must write a one-paragraph response about your experience, telling me what you learned and whether or not you believe this workshop was beneficial.

I used to be a student in the classroom who was afraid to speak up and who felt unaware of who I was. I'm hoping that workshops like this one will assist other students in overcoming similar challenges.
