Bienvenidos a la clase de Español I

Introduction

¡Hola! My name is Jaime Núñez and I will be teaching you  Spanish 1 these six weeks! I am so excited at the opportunity and I know that you will have a fun and rewarding experience in our Spanish class.

I graduated from The New Mexico State University with a Masters Degree in Bilingual Education and Technology. I am extremely passionate about the Spanish language and culture and cannot wait to inspire you to develop a love for the life-long learning of Spanish and other foreign languages!

You will have Spanish class once a week (Saturdays only) for a five-hour period with a one-hour lunch break (12:30 to 1:30 PM CST) , for more information about classes click here

My class will be conducted in Spanish. Throughout the course with a very minimal English language used in the classroom, each unit taught will be based on a piece of material that you will need to print before you come to class. I will provide plenty of opportunities for you to explore the language and culture.

Additionally, throughout the course, you will be working on a “PDF file”   that will reflect the topics and themes covered throughout the course.

This “PDF File” is cumulative and will be traveling with you and make sure to bring it back to class every Saturday.

This will be the workbook we will be using for the next 4 weeks. The cost of all 4 Chapters will be $15 Dollars per student, please make sure to bring the required amount (cash only)

I will be emailing the chapters every Sunday so that you can have the entire week to work on it  DO NOT print it and review before class.

I am looking forward to working with you.   Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or would like to know more about the curriculum or expectations. My email address is jaimenunez1@gmail.com

Responsibility and Expectations

The great thing about an Independent Study course is just that - it is independent. You can work at your own pace and learn by your own individual methods. However, with an Independent Study course, you will be responsible to do your own work, meet deadlines, and stay on top of things. I recommend you make yourself a schedule and stick to it, so you don’t end up cramming everything to the end. If you put some effort and organization into it, this course should be informative, educational, applicable, and fun.
