Oh, To Be A Tree

Introduction

We have been discussing trees in class.  I know that you have many questions about trees. What would it be like to be a tree?  What would you need to survive?  What would you see in the forest around you?  How are trees useful?  You, along with your group members, will follow this webquest to find the answers to all of these questions about trees.  Good Luck on your adventure!

Task

During your webquest your group will learn the answers to all of the questions listed below. Your group must complete all three of the tasks in order to get credit for completing the webquest.

* What are trees usefull for?

* What might you see in the forest if you were a tree?

* What do trees need to survive?

* How do trees get the things they need to survive?

Process

Task 1:

- Your group will go to the following website.  You will use the information found on the site to answer the questions on the worksheet.

Task 2:

- Next your group will go to the following website to make your own drawing of a tree.  Don't forget to label as many parts as you know the names for.

Task 3:

- For your last task, your group will go to the following website, and watch the video about trees.  You will then, as a group, list at least three new things that you learned about trees from the video.

Evaluation

Remember to complete all three of the tasks for the webquest.  Your grade will be based on the completion of these tasks by the group.  Remember to turn in your completed worksheet, and your drawing.

Conclusion

Congratulations, you have now completed your webquest!!  Now you should have answers to all of your tree questions.
