Introduction

A Forest of Many Uses

This lesson will evaluate students perspectives on nature and wildlife. They will explore and use information for future references. This lesson incorporates Language Arts, Reading, Science and some Social Studies standards.

Task

Students will be asked questions and have a scavenger hunt while watching this movie. Did you see __________? What did you learn from the video___________?

Process

Where has anyone seen these animals?  Has anyone ever camped at a park? Talk about products we use.

Evaluation

Have the students compile specific information on the recreation, products and wildlife in the local forest.

If cannot go to forest, have them research a forest in another area

Conclusion

Have the students list ways that a forest in a different part of the country would vary from one near them.

Students to follow a non linear power point on "My Forest:.  Write  5-8 sentences about what will see or do in a forest.
