Tuscany is a region in central Italy. Its capital, Florence, is home to some of the world’s most recognizable Renaissance art and architecture, including Michelangelo’s "David" statue.

You are tasked with learning more about this historic region by watching the provided videos and reflecting on the geographical and cultural differences you see in the videos compared to your home state by using the provided links only.  

Further please be reminded that you are using the school's internet and computers and must therefore act in accordance with the AUP/RUP that follows.

Responsible Use Policy

  • I will keep my language clean, inoffensive and appropriate to the task at hand. 
  • I will remember that if I should not say it out loud in class, then I should not write it in any communications online.

Safety & Privacy

  • I will not share my username and/or password for accessing the MHS Network, nor any of my personal accounts.
  • I will not reveal my full name or any other identifying details about myself, my peers, or other members of the MHS community.
  • I understand that e-mails are not considered private, but at like postcards and anyone could read them.

Use of Personal Devices

  • I know I am not supposed to use my personal technological devices unless my teacher gives me permission.
  • If my teacher allows me to use my cellphone, tablet, laptop, etc., I will use it as if it were school property in the spirit of this Acceptable Use Policy.

Use of School Computers

  • I will treat the school computers with the caution and care as if they were my own
  • I will not attempt to access any other devices that are not my own
  • I will not make any changes to the configuration of the device I am using
  • I agree to be mindful of the cultural sensitivities of others while using the MHS network/portal so as not to provoke reaction or offense, and that I will not intentionally access pornographic, graphically violent, hateful, or other offensive material (as deemed by MHS webmaster) regardless of others´ sensitivities.

Plagiarism

  • I will not use any translation services / devices-- for example, but not limited to: google translate
  • I will embrace WordReference
  • I will give credit where credit is due
  • I will ask my teacher for clarification if I am unsure of the difference between translator and dictionary

Piracy

  • I will not download or install any software with inappropriate material on school technology.

Consequences

  • I understand that if I do not uphold my responsibility to the Acceptable Use Policy, there will be consequences.
  • If I plagiarize once, I will receive a zero on the assignment and my parent/guardian will be contacted for a meeting.
  • If I plagiarize twice, I will receive a zero on the assignment, my parent/guardian will be contacted for a meeting with the Assistant Principal and there will be further disciplinary / social repercussions.
  • If I abuse the MHS online portal or tamper with any school provided technology, I will first loose my technology privileges. 
  • I understand that there may be more serious consequences according to state and federal law depending on the severity of the possible crime I may be found guilty of.
  • I will not damage any MHS property because I will be financially responsible for repairing or replacing the item damaged.
