Hello 2nd Grader! Today, you are going to become a botanist. A botanist is a person who studies plants.

You will complete a Virtual Science Investigation and a Virtual Science Experiment to determine if plants need sunlight and water to grow.

Your Task:

You must explore two websites to learn about what plants need to have in order to grow.

After you complete the task, you should be able to answer the following question: Do plants need sunlight and water to grow?

Virtual Science Investigation:

1) Watch the YouTube video.

2) As you watch the video, fill in your printed-out graphic organizer.


Virtual Science Experiment:

1) Click the grow button.

2) Use heat (sunlight) and water to grow the plant to a healthy size.
