Introduction
Do You Know Your Solar System?
Welcome to the WebQuest that will have you floating through space! Your class has been selected to explore the Milky Way and learn about our wonderful planets in the Solar System! You will be able to learn about each planet individually and pick your favorite planet to share with your classmates! The purpose of this WebQuest is to learn each planet and understand the importance of the Solar System. Your goal is to create a presentation out of this world!!

Task
Your job is to create a PowerPoint to present to the class, including the answers to the following questions as well as images:
- How many planets are there in the Solar System?
- Why is there a Solar System?
- What star do the planets orbit around?
- Which planet(s) have a ring around it and why?
- What are the largest and smallest planets?
- Name and describe one dwarf planet and explain what a dwarf planet it.
- What is the oldest and youngest planet?
- What is your favorite planet and why?
Process
- Individually, you will research each planet and be able to identify each one from the resources that will be provided below.
- Find information on each planet using the resources below, take notes as to where each planet is located and differentiating factors such as what color each planet is, does it have rings or no rings, etc.
- Create a Microsoft PowerPoint being able to discuss the planets and answer certain questions as you proceed through the WebQuest.
- When creating the PowerPoint, make sure to go into detail, avoid just answering what is the largest planet, better yet tell us the exact size of the planet!
- Have fun learning about each planet, and figure out what planet is your favorite! Be creative! For example, imagine yourself in a position to where if you ever had to pick another planet to live on, what would it be?
- This is your PowerPoint, include as many neat pictures, sounds, videos, of the Solar System as you want!
- When finished, be sure to SAVE and email the PowerPoint to me (daileymn@battlers.ab.edu)
