Gravity and Earth

Introduction

Why do apples fall from trees?

Why do people walk on the ground and not float around?

Why are the sun, moon and stars able to not crash into the Earth?

Task

Stand up. Hold one book on your left hand. And hold a pen on the right hand.

Then drop both objects at the same time.

Process

Did they fall on the ground at the same time?

Try this activity for different objects.

Evaluation

The student is able to complete the activity once he/ she is able to observe and assess the relation of gravity to the task.

Conclusion

We can say that gravity keeps everything in place!

It is a constant force on Earth that holds everything together. It keeps the sun and moon in their places. It prevents us from floating around unlike in space. It is a force that maintains equilibrium on Earth!
