Introduction
You are a news reporter and your job is to get the scoop. Your editor, me, will give you a person and you need to find everything out about this person. Who are they? Why are they such a big deal?
Task
Your assignment is to create a presentation to share what you have learned about the person you were given. You may present the information in any manner, example: news article, documentary, or a PowerPoint poster.
You must include their early childhood, their later life, and their importance.
You must also include an unusual fact that most people do not know.
You also must include pictures
And finally you must use your imagination!
Process
- Students will go to the links provided and read the information.
- Students will take notes and decide what to include in their presentation.
- Finally, the students will open up Google Docs and create their presentation, while leaving up their Webquest so they can double check their facts. If you chooses to create a video, use Google Docs to create a script for your documentary.

Conclusion
After everyone has completed their presentation I will print them into newspapers for future fifth grades. I will also include QR codes for students who chooses to create a video.
When creating your presentation, think about these three questions:
What do you want the future fifth graders know about your person?
What do you think future fifth graders should really get out of your news article?
Would you include your one interesting fact about your person in future textbooks?
