Imports/Exports of America

Introduction

American states' imports and exports are an important part of our history and geography, it helps us learn how each state interacts with themselves each other, and other countries in times of need and in general. For this presentation I have created a fun and exciting WebQuest to help you follow along with American states' imports and exports. Students will earn points based on the knowledge they gain over at least 2 American states' imports

Task

SS-Geo.9-12.14. Integrate multiple geographic representations to explain relationships between the locations of places and regions and their political, cultural, and economic dynamics.

Lesson Objective- Students will figure out what two states they want to research independently. Once students have picked their 2 states, they will then start researching both imports and exports of both states and taking notes independently. As soon as students have finished their research and notes they will then create a PowerPoint over their findings of the 2 states they researched. Students will get a week and half to research and will present at the 2-week mark.

Process

1. First each student will choose the 2 states they want to research.

2. Each student will research imports and exports of both states they chose while taking detailed notes.

3. Students may rely on each other and teacher for help with research if needed but must complete the PowerPoint on their own.

4. Students should have at least 6 imports and 6 exports for each state with data.

5. I advise each student to take detailed notes and keep their websites either open or have a link to them on a document somewhere on their computer.

5. Each student will create a PowerPoint over their findings of their 2 states' imports and exports.

6. Students MUST have links to their websites in the end of the PowerPoint (This should be the last slide).

7. Student will present at the 2-week mark.

8. Students should not be reading the screen when presenting.

9. Students may get an extension if it is warranted.
