Communication Charades
Instructions:
- Divide the students into small groups or pairs.
- Assign each group one of the four types of communication: verbal, non-verbal, written, or visual.
- Each group should think of a specific example that fits their assigned communication type and act it out for the class.
- Verbal Communication
- Non-Verbal Communication
- Written Communication
- Visual Communication
- The rest of the class will guess which type of communication is being portrayed and provide examples or comments about how they use that type of communication in their own lives.
Task
The task is to create a presentation that highlights the key types of communication: verbal, non-verbal, written, and visual. The individual will research each type, provide real-life examples, and explain how these types of communication can be used effectively in various contexts. At the end of the lesson, they will present their findings and discuss which type of communication they believe is most impactful in modern society.
Process
The students are expected to:
1. Research: Begin by visiting the resources provided and reading about the four main types of communication: verbal, non-verbal, written, and visual.
2. Choose Examples: Find real-life examples for each type of communication. These could include a speech for verbal communication, body language for non-verbal, emails for written, and advertisements for visual communication.
3. Analyze: Reflect on how each type of communication serves its purpose in specific situations. How can each be used effectively in professional or personal scenarios?
4. Create Presentation: Using the research and examples, create a presentation that covers each communication type and provides clear, relevant examples.
5. Present Findings: Present the project to the class or in a group discussion, explaining each type of communication and its importance.
RESOURCES
This will help the students supplement and gather necessary information for their task.
