Introduction
Hello All,
Welcome to Intro to Strength and Conditioning/Test and Measurements. Meeting time for this class is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9am-9:50am. This class is for students in grades 9-12. The class is divided into three sections throughout the semester. The first section of the class is intro to strength and conditioning. In this section you will learn about definitions, basic lifts, and the basic muscle groups. The second section is test and measurements. In this section you will learn about different types of test, how to measure the test, and what lifts can help you in these test. The last section is actually participating in different test.
Please wear athletic clothes and shoes for this class as we will be performing different lifts and test. This class will be what you make it so if you show up with a positive attitude and come to learn. Let's have a good year!
Best Wishes,
Go Eagles!
Professor Jackson
Task
Use the internet to look up the following definitions and define them; rep, set, strength, speed, power, muscular endurance, concentric contraction, eccentric contraction, isometric contraction, compound movement, isolation movement, supplemental exercise, flexion/extension, supination/pronation, adduction/abduction, motor neuron, muscle fiber, slow twitch fibers, fast twitch fibers, ATP, aerobic/anaerobic energy system, lactate, oxidation, fatty acids, hypertrophy, atrophy, and glycolosis.
Once you have defined all the terms above use the internet to give an example of each. For example: sprinters have fast twitch muscle fibers.
Process
1. On a word document, use google and define and put an example of each of the terms that I have listed in the task tab.
2. Once you have completed step one, write a few sentences about what lift and test you are looking forward to learning about the most.

Evaluation
| 0-2 Points | 3-4 Points | 5 Points | |
| Term/Definition | The wrong definition was given or no definition at all. | The definition was there, but was missing information. | The definition was present and had all the information. |
| Example of Definition | No example was given. | Used an example, but in the wrong way. | The example was spot on with the definition. |
Conclusion
This is the end of this lesson. Please turn this assignment in and check your email for next weeks assignments.
