Introduction

Jake has just been caught spray painting the back wall of a local convenience store. He has been taken into custody by the local police. Jake has heard of your reputation as a lawyer and has come to you seeking legal advice.

You will be given a graphic organizer that will be filled in with the information you find on Georgia's Juvenile Justice System. You will need to find information on the following topics:

  1. The individual steps of the Juvenile Justice System.
  2. The rights of juveniles in the Juvenile Justice System.
  3. Why does Georgia have a separate justice system for its juveniles?
  4. The consequences and punishments a juvenile may receive for delinquent behavior.
Evaluation

Students will be graded on a completion of a graphic organizer that depicts the needed information for full understanding of the juvenile justice system and how it works with the juveniles of the state.
