The Habitat Exploration Adventure

Introduction

Welcome to The Habitat Exploration!

Today, you are going to be explorers going on an adventure exploring the different habitats around the world! 

Before we get started, you might be asking yourself, "What is a habitat"? A habitat is a special place where plants and animals live. Throughout our exploration, we will be visiting various locations and collect information about each habitat.

In order to start your adventure of the habitats, you will be using this webquest.

We will be studying 4 habitats:

During you exloration adenture, we will be asking ourselves:

  1. What are certain things that makes up the habitat?
  2. What plants and animals live in this habitat?

Task

In order to start your adventure, you and a partner will visit this webquest page. As you explore through the Habitat Adventure, you will collect interesting facts about each habitat.

This will include:

  • Characteristic of the Habitat
  • Location
  • Types of Plants
  • Types of Animals

as well as other fun facts you've found. You will also be recording your findings on your Habitat Fact Sheet.

At the end of your exploration, you and your partner will create a "Exploration Journal" that included all the fact sheets you and your partner have completed throughout your adventure.

Then, you will both design a diarama of your favorite habitat and be prepared to share your finding with the class.

Process

Follow these steps to begin your habitat exploration: 

1. Parnter up and go to assignmed computer to start.

2. Click on the link, HABITAT FACT SHEETS, and print out 2copies,  for you (1) and your partner (1).

3. Click on the links of the habitat and begin your exploration! 

4. Answer the questions and fill out your habitat worksheet

5. HAVE FUN!!

After you've visited all the habitats, you and your partner will work together to complete your Habitat Fact Sheets and create a Diarama of a habitat of your choice to display and share all that you've learnedin your Habitat Exploration Journal.

When you have finished, you and your partner will present your diarama to the class.
