Standard: S.5.10 Develop a model using an example to describe ways the geosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere, and/or atmosphere interact.

There are four layers of the Earth. They are the Atmosphere, Biosphere, Hydrosphere, and Geopshere.

Task

Your task is to create and correctly label a Model of the Earth's layers including the atmosphere, biosphere, geosphere, and hydrosphere. In groups of 2-4. Distribute different jobs among the group. You will research your four spheres online and books are available in the classroom. The group will be making a PowerPoint.  These forms will help guide you on your quest through the four spheres.

Process

 The first thing to do is to research the atmosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere, and geosphere. 

You will keep a journal.

You will be able to answer the following IXL:

HDB: Describe the geosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere, and atmosphere.

You will have to research the four spheres on different pages. You will include what can be found in each sphere. You will need to draw or cut out things from a magazine or you can print some pictures off the internet and glue them on the pages. 

When you have enough information you will move on to the digital presentation.

You will create a PowerPoint presentation. Each person will create a slide. You must include visuals in your presentation. 

Evaluation

 You and your teammates will give the class a presentation. 

Content: 30 points

Organization and structure: 25 points

Visual presentation(creativity): 25 points

Engagement: 20 points

 

Conclusion

Congratulations explorers. You have learned about four different spheres of Earth. You now know how they are intertwined. Through this web quest, you have gained insight into how the spheres work. You have learned what they consist of.
