Introduction

The Marketing strategy or Marketing Plan, may be can considered so modern, however the Phoenician used long time ago to trade by the Mediterranean sea when they adapted their products to their costumers needs.

Through this WebQuest the students Will understand, how important is to have a Good Marketing plan in order to be successful in the company.

Task

a) First, you have to guess the four components that we are speaking about; the Clue is that all of them start by the same letter.

b) Second, you have to guess who defined these four variables, for this task you have several clues on the next page.

THE BIG CHALLENGE

Now arrives the big challenge, imagine that you are the Commercial manager of FAMOSA and you are interesting in spreading in United States.

YOU HAVE TO ANALYSSE YOUR RIVALS (COMPETITORS)

You must do a S.W.O.T analysis of your company to EEUU, analysing your Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats  and the same as your competitors.

Imagine that there are two toys companies in EEUU TOYS “R” us and Mattel

                                      

 

You must to obtain as much information about their Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats as you can.

 

Process
  • The students have to guess the 4 components of Marketing mix surfing individuals must indicate on the indicate websites.
  •  
  • Later they have to guess the full name of the 4 p´s of Marketing mix discover individual.
  •  
  • They just have ten minutes to do these tasks.

 

            

Students have small groups of four people

Students have to create together the SWOT analyse (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities & Threats) to do this, they must surf the internet, finding the information about Famosa and her competence, they have ten minutes.

Finally they have to create the marketing mix to launch a new toy

 

Evaluation

The questions 1 & 2 have  a maximum mark of one point each one and the students have to answer individual questions on a sheet that they have to deliver to the teacher.

On question 3 the teacher assesses the quality of the  s.w.o.t analysis of the product created and the marketing tools. Each part will have a mark of 1,5 and the teacher will give a template for each group.

The objective of the Webquest is that the students understand the importance of the marketing tools by/for the companies and they must be able to use many marketing tools.
