Introduction
In this Mini Book Project you will get the chance to practice on determining main ideas of a text and being able to explain how they are supported, you will also get the chance to explain relationships between people, events, ideas, or concepts.
Being able to determine main ideas of a text and explain relationships or interactions between two or more individuals will ultimately help you become a better reader and it will help you understand your readings more.

Key Ideas and Textual Support
5.RN.2.2- Determine two or more main ideas of a text and explain how they are supported by key details; summarize the text.
5.RN.2.3- Explain the relationships or interactions between two or more individuals, events, ideas, or concepts in a historical, scientific, or technical text based on specific information in the text.
Task
First, you and your group will read the first 2 chapters in your book.
Second, you will discuss as a group on overall thoughts of the book, and everybody in the group will give a main idea of the text and how it is being supported, and everybody will need to give 1 relationship between, two or more individuals, events, ideas, or concepts.
Lastly, everybody in the group will create 2 pages(these need to include drawings describing your scenario) one over the main idea and one over the relationship that you found, you will put everybody's pages together in order to create a mini book.

Process
First, you will pick groups of 2-3 and will agree on a book.
Second, you will read the first two chapters of your book.
The next step is to figure out the events that took place and the relationships that you found.
The fourth step is to talk about your findings as a group.
Step Five is to draw your pictures describing your events/relationships.
Lastly, is to put your drawings together in order with your group to finish the mini book.

Evaluation
During whole class discussion, groups will stand up front and present their mini books while explaining the actions of their book.
Questions to be asked while completing the project, where did this action take place, why did this action take place, how did these relationships become, and how are the main ideas supported.
Conclusion
As an extension of the activity, your group will be given the mini book of another group in the class, you are to look at their drawings and try to figure out what their actions that they drew are representing.
