MODULE 3: LESSON 1
Development and Use of Non-digital or Conventional Instructional Materials
Evaluation
Activity 3: Role Play – Bringing Concepts to Life
Materials Needed:
• Drawing materials (e.g., markers, paper) for Group 1 (Teaching Addition)
• Pictures/printed images of body parts for Group 2 (Teaching Parts of the Body)
Instructions:
• Grouping and Assignment:
• Divide the class into four groups.
• Group 1 will focus on using drawings as their instructional material.
• Group 2 will focus on using pictures as their instructional material.
• Group 3 will focus on using diorama as their instructional material.
• Group 4 will focus on using magazines as their instructional material.
• Preparation:
• Each group will be given 3 days to make their assigned instructional materials.
• Each group must create an instructional material that is related to their course.
• After making their instructional materials, each group has 10-15 minutes to prepare for their role play.
• Role Play Performance:
• Each group will take turns performing their role play in front of the class.
• Reflection and Insights:
• After each performance, a representative from each group will be chosen to step forward and share their insights about their performance.
• The representative should reflect on the following:
• What teaching strategies worked best?
• How did the use of the instructional materials (drawings or pictures) help in teaching the concept?
• What challenges did they face during the role play?
Mechanics:
• Time Allocation:
• Preparation time (making of instructional materials) : 3 days
• Preparation time (role play): 10-15 minutes
• Performance time per group: 5-7 minutes
• Reflection and class discussion: 10 minutes
• Assessment:
• Creativity & Engagement (30%): How engaging and creative was the role play in presenting the topic?
• Use of Instructional Materials (30%): How effectively did the group use the assigned materials (drawing/pictures) to enhance the lesson?
• Reflection (40%): Quality of insights shared by the representative, including understanding of the teaching process and challenges faced.
