P5-6 Go To Edinburgh

Introduction

Your class has been looking forward to the class trip to Edinburgh for ages.... But Mrs Clark has had a phone call from Edinburgh Castle to say that the Castle will be closed on Thursday....

What can we do instead?

We have 3 hours to fill..... We must stay on the Royal Mile..... We must all stay together as a group of 25 children and 7 adults..... And we can only spend £10 per person.

Your task is to research the tourist attractions which are available on the Royal Mile, and decide which one we should visit.

Task

Use your internet research skills to find out about tourist attractions on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh.

Decide which attractions would be most suitable for our class, and find out how much it/they would cost.

Create an A4 leaflet containing information on the attraction/s you have chosen. Explain why you think it would be good for the class to visit. Remember to include information on how much it would cost, and the exact address.

Process

1.   Do your research. Here are some websites to start you off:

2.   Agree with your group on the best attraction for us. Remember the success criteria!

3.   Make sure you have all the relevant information on your favoured attraction. Include the information in your A4 leaflet.

4.   Be ready to share your leaflet with the rest of the class, and be able to justify why you chose your tourist attraction.
