EO4 Chinese Empire Webquest Exam

Introduction

This unit discusses cultural and technological developments in China after A.D. 220. It also describes China’s unification, spread of new religions and the rise of the Tang and Song dynasties. With the invasion of the Mongols, history bears witness to the depth of the Chinese belief in the Mandate of Heaven, as invaders quickly become the rulers of the populated nation. As the Chinese gain back control, the Ming and Qing dynasties put policies in place to reassert traditional rule. The unit ends with an assessment and speculation of China’s curtailed age of exploration.
