After WWII, between the 1940's and the early 1990's, there was a period of tension between the Soviet Union and the United States that brought most of the world in a state of guard and defense.  It was a battle of ideals to become the worlds superpower.

Your Task

Your task is to learn about one of the conflicts that make up the Cold War. 

In groups, you are to create a brief presentation for the class addressing the major facts about your assigned conflict.

1) In your assigned groups, you are to search for answers posted for your designated Cold War conflict.

2) With these answers, your group will create and present your findings to the class using the presentation medium of your choice.

Preparedness & Participation Students are completely prepared and has obviously rehearsed. Students are pretty prepared but might have needed a couple more rehearsals. The students are somewhat prepared, but it is clear that rehearsal was lacking. Students do not seem at all prepared to present.

Conclusion

Although the United States and the Soviet Union were in deep conflict with each others ideals and agendas, the two sides never fought with each other directly.  It was through surrogate, or "proxie" wars that each side was able to advance their missions. These proxie wars have torn countries and families apart, in which we still see the broken remnants of this conflict, 20 years later in present day.
