Introduction
African American artists have had a major contribution to American Art as a whole. Having a different perception on the United States than others in the most troubling of times, African Americans have made great strides in the industry. Travel back into time and see how art looked then and what Black artists are doing now!
Task
Create a time line that begins in the 1940's and ends in the late 2000's. Be creative. Use poster boards, collages, and colors to represent the time changes if you'd like. On the time line, give a brief summary of the type of art or Era of art popular at that time. Provide examples of the art from various artists you find and write down the name of the artists, their birth and death, along with the reason you think they created their work.

Step 4:
Put it all together, have a friend look over it for positive criticism. Prepair to present it in class.
