Freedom Writers

Introduction

The Freedom Writers is a book made by students that go to Woodrow Wilson Classical High School in Eastside, Long Beach, California. This school was full of gang violence and these kids had to do what ever in order to survive. No one had ever belived in then, the people thought that they were failures and could not learn. That is until Mrs. Gruwell came. She taught the kids that they mattered and that thye could learn and be smart and do all of these things. She gave them hope to go on and great.                                                                                                                               

Task

During this presentation you will watch a video and answer some questons. The purpose of this is to get a basic knowlege of segregation and treating people unfair. In the second section you will be a short paragraph about why Mrs. Gruwell has made an impact on these kids. The purpose of this is to get a basic understanding of segregation and how bad it is. In section you are writing an essay about who your hero is. You are writing this to teach you how to be thankful for that person and how much they mean to you.
