Career WebQuest

Introduction

Hello and welcome to your new adventure in searching for a career that best suits you. In completing this WeQuest, you will be exploring careers and career paths that interest you. There are 4 basic components to this WebQuest:

  • Introduction ~ An overview of the WebQuest
  • Task ~ The task to be completed
  • Process ~ Instructions to completing the task
  • Evaluation ~ The grading instrument to evaluate your work
Task

Your task will be to explore a career or a set of careers based on your personal preferences and personal interests. You will research a selected career using the Internet and create PowerPoint presentation to share with the class.

Process

You will have the next six computer classes to complete this WebQuest. So on the sixth day of the project you have to turn in your project for grading.

This research project will start you thinking specifics in a career that you choose to explore. You will be using the Internet to do an in-depth study on a career that you are interested in. You will be looking at the job description, the activities that relate to that job, the education required and the salary paid for doing the work. Once you have gathered this information, you will put it into a PowerPoint presentation to be shown to your classmates.

Requirements for the PowerPoint after you have storyboarded it:

    • Slide 1: Title
    • Slide 2-7: Career information
    • Slide 8: Students will briefly state their reaction to the information gained
    • Slide 9: Cite where the information came from

You will turn your PowerPoint into MOODLE and save it as <lastname.Career.ppt>

There will be a drop box in at the MOODLE web site to turn in your project.
