Welcome to Postmodernism in Literature!This Webquest will introduce you to the elements and features of Postmodern Literature through the examination of Rebecca Anderson's "Little Red Riding Hoody." You will be given all the tools and resources needed to complete each task and to complete the Webquest. Postmodernism is a relatively new theory that came into existence after World War II. Postmodern literature CHALLENGES & QUESTIONS the fundamental principles and assumptions about the nature of texts by REINVENTING already existing literature and CREATING new pieces by BORROWING from the existing. It highlights the conventions and clichés of the forms and functions of texts, accepted notions of originality, authorship and the nature of representation. As young adults you may find this 'rebelling' theory to be intriguing and influential on your perception of the world around you. An exposure to the features of Postmodern literature will help to arm you with the skills needed to become critical thinkers and creators!

Task

Using the resources provided you will become familiar with postmodern literary devices and techniques in order to create your own postmodern work. Using the various resources, you will answer research questions that are meant to expand your knowledge on Postmodern literature, its history and its features. After an understanding of Postmodern Literature is established, you will be expected to analyse Rebecca Anderson's "Little Red Riding Hoody" to reveal the features of Postmodernism which are present. At the end of this lesson, you will be able to form your own opinion of postmodernism and lastly create your very own Post Modern Literary piece.
