The Moon changes shape every day. Sometimes you can see only part of the Moon. Other times, you can see the entire Moon. Why does this happen?
The purpose of this WebQuest is to help you learn why we see phases of the Moon.
Task
Task 1
Draw the correct phase of the moon in each box. Cut out the pictures and glue them on your worksheet in order beginning with the new moon.
Task 2
By putting in the current month and year, find today's date and draw what the moon will look like tonight.
Put in the month and year you were born. Draw a picture of the way the moon looked on your birthday.
Task 3
The full moon each month has a special name. What is the name of the full moon for the month we are in now?
What is the name of the full moon for your birth month?
