Athens vs Sparta

Introduction

   Athens is the capital and largest city of Greece. It is one of the world oldest citys spanning around 3,400 years. Its a center for the arts, home of Plato, and Aristotle. It is widely referred to as the cradle of Western civilization and the birthplace of democracy. Sparta was a prominet city-stae in ancient Greece. It emerged as a political entity around the tenth centery B.C.. At one time Sparta was the principal enemy of Atheans with a great cost of lives lost.

Task

Your task will be to explore how these to citys influenced todays world.  Pick one of the following:

- You will be a political leader in Athens.

- You will be a solider in Sparta

Conclusion

The Athenian Form of electing a govermentwas called Limited Democracy. The ruler of Athens is said to have been the birthpalce of democracy.

Sparta had a very well trained military. They had an advantage on land. They were quite small but one of the most powerful of the ancinet world.
