Introduction

Today we will be continuing our unit on Rights. We are going to be exploring speeches made by Gough Whitlam and Vincent Lingiari at the time of the Wave Hill Walkout.
Task
Activity
1. As a class we will be watching a video on the Wave Hill Walkout (http://aso.gov.au/titles/documentaries/blood-brothers-little-things/cli…)
As we are watching this clip I want you to add any thing that you might find interesting or important to our class Padlet

2. Before moving to our next activity we are going to quickly recap some of the key features of speeches. Everyone please follow the link and complete the interactive revision on speeches;

3. As a class we will be listening to a recording of the speech made in 1975 by Gough Whitlam to vincent Lingiarri and the Gurindji people and Vincent Lingiari's response. As we are listening to this recording please note down any similarities or differences in the two speeches (refer to speech revision we have just gone over for key points) and post them on our class Padlet.

Conclusion
Everyone should now have a better understanding of some great speeches made in Australian history as well as features you can incorporate in your own speeches in the future.
