Introduction
This year, we have a small group of students enrolled in an Advanced French III course. These students have performed exceedingly well throughout their previous two years of French language classes, and as a culmination of their language studies at the high school level, they will be participating in a trip to Paris, France at the end of this school year. The airfare and lodging for each student (and their teac
her) is being funded by a generous donor, a local businessman who conducts business on an international level. You are his administrative assistant, and he has asked you to help the students as they plan their itinerary for the journey!! As a perk (and in the event of an emergency situation), he is sending you to represent him and accompany them on their trip. You are trying to locate experts to help you assemble information for the students so that they may make informed decisions as they plan their trip. Therefore, you have been busy researching travel agencies, specifically looking for one with the unique ability to provide personalized, detailed information about traveling to France (specifically, Paris). As luck would have it, you found a local travel agency owned by a family with deep ties to France, as they are first-generation Americans whose extended family is French. They are providing you with experts in each of these categories:
- Transportation
- Lodging & Accommodations
- Activities
- Dining
Task

The students will have a travel day on either end of the trip, and they will spend five full days in Paris, departing New York's LaGuardia Airport on May 24th and returning May 30th. Currently, the students are trying to decide which places they want to see and what they want to do so they can make the most out of their experience. Your job is to offer them fantastic, adventure-filled opportunities for this trip!
For this assignment, you will need to research various activities, locations, and monuments in Paris (or in close proximity to Paris). Remember, these students hope to fully experience, reinforce, and apply what they have learned about French culture and history.
You will work in groups of five, with each student taking on one of the following roles from the travel agency:
- Transportation Coordinator
- Lodging & Accommodations Coordinator
- Activities Coordinator
- Dining Coordinator
- Media Specialist (assists with providing photographs to support the research and drafting itineraries)
Once you have completed your research, you will create a PowerPoint presentation assembling this information in one place. It will contain pictures, captions, and details on the various options available to the students along with a sample itinerary. You will be meeting with them in one week to present their options.
PowerPoint Information:

Conclusion
Congratulations upon successfully completing your Webquest! This project required you to research the many monuments, activities, attractions, and other points of interest, and hopefully, this has given you insight to the many options available should you ever take a trip to Paris, and perhaps it has inspired you to be sure to include this trip on your "bucket list. Through this experience, you should have not only gained insight to a world-renowned culture, but you have also conducted educational research and have assembled your facts together in a presentation. These skills will be useful not only as you continue in high school, but as you continue life beyond high school as well.
