Introduction
Imagine you could visit any place on Earth. Would you be able to tell your friends what part of the world you visited? Which ocean did you traverse, and what continent did you go to?

In this lesson you are going to travel the world to discover the hemispheres, the oceans, the continents, the equator and the prime meridian.
You will create and correctly label the globe.
Task
1. Students will create a globe.
2. Students will identify the hemispheres, the oceans, the continents, the equator and the prime meridian.
3. Students will identify what the equator separates.
4. Students will identify what the prime meridian separates.
5. Students will identify in which hemispere the continents are located.
6. Students will identify in which hemisphere the oceans are located.
7. Students will identify countries that are located on the equator.
8. Students will identify countries that are located on the prime meridian.
9. Students will choose a country located in one of the four hemispheres and learn something unique about it.
10. Students will choose one ocean and learn something unique about it.
Process
You will work in your assigned groups to complete the globe, which has been given to you. You will use the websites that you have been given to create your globe. You will need complete the questions.
1. The earth has four hemispheres. Using the website below, identify the four hemispheres and label them on your globe.

3. Our earth home also has five oceans. Use this website to identify the five oceans and label them on your globe.
4. The earth has something called the equator. What is it, and what does it separate? Use this link to find out. Label the equator on your globe.
5. The earth also has something called the prime meridian. What is it, and what does it separate? Use the link below to find out. Label the prime meridian on your globe.

Evaluation
1. Students have put the group's names on the globe and papers.
2. Students have successfully labeled each of the four hemispheres, the seven continents, the five oceans, the equator and the prime meridian. The globe will be provided to the students.
3. The students have successfully completed questions 6-11 using the Internet to discover unique facts about different countries.
Conclusion
Congratulations!!! You have completed your journey around the world. I hope you learned something new and unique about our planet home. You may color your globe, so it can be displayed outside our classroom.
