Introduction
The roots of some plants are edible, which means they can be eaten by people or animals, example: carrot and coco. Some roots can be eaten raw and some have to be cooked. Edible roots must be washed clean with water before we prepare them for eating. Teacher and student will discuss different types of “edible” roots. Teacher and children will say the poem titled, “Edible Roots”

Question children to find out their understanding of the word and allow children to give their own definition of the word.
Encourage children to tell the names of different types of edible roots on display.
Step 3: Invite children to view picture chart and identify roots that can be eaten.
Encourage children to listen to the name of each edible root and label them correctly
