The 3 Best World Wonders...
The organization NEW7WONDERS holds elections to compose a new list of three best world wonders. The organization is congratulated of receving you as a member of the brand new election!
Flight 4567 to Washington, USA, within the next 15 minutes. The weather is looking beautiful and final preparations are in way for the Official Declaration Ceremony of the Best 3 Wonders of the World.

Task
TASK
1. You make a team of two. Therefore the first thing you will do is to select someone who will cooperate with you.
2. The next step is to examine the 7 candidates. You will find some useful websites in the next section of this webquest to search for more background information concerning each nominated world wonders.
3. After that, you need to discuss with your teammate how to establish a list of 3 new world wonders according to the standards of you and your partner.
4. When you have made your own list of favourites, you must hold a presentation which will be shown at the Election Ceremony. On this presentation you will make public why you have selected those particular three constructions.
Making the overview and presentation is not really the most difficult part of this task. You will see that it isn´t easy to eliminate 4 precious contructions, because everyone has his own taste and opinion. So here are some suggestions you can use them to help with your selection (but maybe you can add others):
- It is simply the most beautiful to see.
- It is build a long time ago. Today´s architects have complete modern equipments to make such difficult things. The ancients did not have such modern tools.
- There is something mysterious about it. How did the ancients build this and why?
- It has to be very large.
- It must be modern, because the old constructions no longer interests us?
- It has to do something with religion, because the gods played an important role in our life.
- And so on...

SELECT THREE FAVOURITES
1. Together you take a global look at the 7 candidates. You don´t have to discuss together. You only examine the world wonders. Here are some websites that will help you with your election:

2. After that, each of you write your three favourites on a separate sheet (it will be hand out by your teacher).
3. When you both are ready with your own list, then compare both of them and fill a new overview (your teacher will provide one for you).
Now a new list have been composed. You may use the following indications:
- How many buildings do you have on the new list? Probably not exactly the same ones; that would be a great concidence.
- Are there too many buildings? Then you have to discuss which place(s) has to be removed from the favourite list.
PRESENTATION
Now you can elaborate a presentation of your three favourites. Check the "credits" section to find some beautiful pictures. You can choose to make:
- Three posters
For each building you make a separate slide. Each one has at least 2 images of the construction. Don´t use images that are too similar. Of course, you can forget to add inforamtion concerning each building. Also write down why you have chosen these places (in a separate slide if you wish).
- Report
To write an opinion report from the Electors team with images and information about the three favourites, which will show images and key information about the construction. Try to persuade the citizens to vote your selection in, at least, two paragraphs.
Do not forget to develop a nice introduction to present all possible choices. If you prefer, make it simple: images of the Seven Wonders and name them. But any idea is more than welcome! Here you have an example:
Evaluation
EVALUATION
The most important component of this webquest is of course the presentation. You can deserve a maximum of 77 points. If you have 55 points (or more) than you scored sufficiently and you have done a great job at the Election Comitee.
Create a grid at the end of your presentation which reflects the score that you reach.
Conclusion
Congratulations! You have just completed this Webquest. You have successfully acted as a Election Member. Thanks to you, the world know more about the Best 3 Wonders of the World.
