Task

The two books we read for our three lessons of geography gave you a good look at these civilizations but I want you to not only know these detail but I want for these details to come to life. The I want for you to write a 2 page paper describing what life would be like for you if you were growing up and living in the civilization you chose.

4. Once you have finished the book and written all your summaries you are going to reread your summaries and think about how your life would be based on the book you have read.
5. Then you are going to write about what your life would be like if you grew up in this civilization based on what you have learned and read.
Evaluation
Students, you will be graded individually on your assignment since this was not group work. When I am grading I will look to see that your pick either Ancient Greece or Ancient Rome as your civilization to read about. Then, I will want to see that you picked at least one book to read about your topic. If you picked a different book from the list it needed to be approved before you read. I would like for you to turn in all of your summaries to make sure you did this step of the process. This step was to help you remember things you found important from your reading which you could choose to use in your final paper. Lastly, I will collect your paper. It should be two pages in length with many details depicting you in the civilization you chose.
Conclusion
From this webquest, I hope you were able to become more familiar with the civilizaiton you chose. The purpose of reading the books, specifically the Magic Tree House, was to bring the history to live so that you could imagine yourself in this very culture.

Learners
- This webquest is meant for third grade history but you can adjust the level and subject by picking out different book options.
- Before beginning the lesson student do not need to have any background knowledge of the topic. The lesson is meant as a refresher but it could be a beginning lesson too.
Process
- This lesson is meant for one class but can be open to more than one. The lesson is worked on once a day and it should take at least two weeks to complete. It could take more or less time depending on how fast the students read. The lesson is multidisciplinary since it is involving history, reading, and writing.
- Some students are going to pick difficult books that they cannot read. I need to make sure that my students are able to read the books they pick. Therefore I will suggest for students to be able to read all but five words on the first page of the book in order to determine if the book will be too hard.
- Some students might not like the book options, so I said students can find a book on the topic and get my approval.
- A novice teacher should be able to pull this off. This lesson involves a lot of independent work on the part of the students. As long as the teacher knows how to use the computer, to copy and paste links or to find these books in the library, the teacher should be set.
