Teacher Introduction
A WebQuest is an inquiry-based lesson in which students seek information on a topic from the web.
The learners in this WebQuest will use online tools to access information about the plant life cycle and parts of a plant. As they complete the tasks in this WebQuest, they will become familiar with the plant life cycle and parts of a plant. At the end of their research, the students will create and label a plant showing its parts and create a picture of the plant life cycle.
The Learners
This WebQuest was designed for Kindergarten students learning about plant parts and life cycle.

AASL STANDARDS FOR THE 21ST Century Learner
1.1.1 Follow an inquiry-based process in seeking knowledge in curricular subjects, and make the real-world connection for using this process in own life.
1.1.2 Use prior and background knowledge as context for new learning.
1.1.6 Read, view, and listen for information presented in any format (e.g., textual, visual, media, digital) in order to make inferences and gather meaning.
2.1.6 Use the writing process, media and visual literacy, and technology skills to create products that express new understandings.
4.1.4 Seek information for personal learning in a variety of formats and genres.
Teacher Process
Before beginning this webquest, students should plant seeds in class to begin the process of understanding plant life cycles. In a Kindergarten classroom, this would work best as a Literacy Station or Center that children rotated through on a day by day basis.
**This WebQuest is designed to be completed in small groups to accommodate children with accommodations or different abilities. Teacher guidance and peer helpers will aid students that need assistance navigating the WebQuest.
