- Write down the definition for plot and structure
- Glue in the plot structure information sheet (Sheet 1)
- Then complete the printed sheet titled 'The Basic Structure of a Novel' (Sheet 2)
- Glue this sheet into your book, and add the date.
Understand non-linear plot sequences

- Grab a piece of A4 paper to make a poster to glue into your book - used colour pens
- Create an information poster which explains: Dramatic Plot, Episodic Plot and Flashback
- Your poster must include a drawing of the plot structure, and a one sentence explaination for each of the three types.

Read Chapter 14 of Tom Appleby (pages 65,66,67)
Fill out Sheet 3 to identify the plot structure of this Chapter.
The 'mood' and 'author's purpose' for this chapter will reveal how the audience has been made to feel about Tom stealing and his suffering after the death of Jem.
